THE HOUSE FOOL

Who Left the Door Open?
I seem to have acquired a house.
I'm not entirely sure how it happened.
I only meant to make a little room for ideas, conversations, stories and experiments.
Then Theatre arrived with a trunk full of costumes.
The Sandbox brought games, questions and several things that didn't behave as expected.
And somebody put the kettle on.
Before I knew it, there were rooms everywhere.
Welcome to The House Fool.
The Fool's Sandbox
Workshops, Games & Experiments
Here we invite the I out to play.
There may be games, conversations, theatre exercises, creative experiments and adventures inspired by Tao, Zen, ecology and The Fool Method.
We might discover that an opinion we've been defending for twenty years is standing on rather wobbly legs.
Or we might simply have a very interesting afternoon.
Both seem worthwhile.
The Fool's Theatre
Stories, Characters & Performances
Every morning, the curtain rises.
The sensible I appears. Then the offended I. Then the brave I. Then the I who has absolutely no idea what is going on but is pretending magnificently.
Most of us are already in costume.
Here, stories step onto the stage, characters escape from their authors, and the ordinary business of being human becomes a rather extraordinary performance.
There may be plays, readings, theatre games and adventures of the mind.
Nobody is required to be a good actor.
Life has already given us plenty of practice.
Fursat
The Delicious Business of Having Time
And then there is Fursat.
A room where nobody has to achieve anything.
Not even relaxation.
There may be cooking, eating, music, tea, conversations, walks, silence, and the pleasure of doing ordinary things without turning them into important projects.
The kettle is on.
The world can wait a little.
What's Happening at The House Fool?
No idea what's happening next. Watch this space.
The doors will open from time to time for workshops, performances, gatherings and other curious adventures.
There is no compulsory attendance.
No entrance examination.
And absolutely no requirement to become a better person before coming in.
Come as you are. Being human is quite sufficient.
